Varietal: Chardonnay
Vintage: 2012
Region: Auvergne, France. Puy de Dome to be exact. Puy de Dome is a district within Auvergne. This region is famous for its beauty and dormant volcanoes. Famous wine in this region date back to 1850. The grapes are grown on the volcanic solis of this region, giving this wine minerality and complexity.
Camille's Notes: My taste buds and "wine mood" changes, as I am sure many of yours do as the weather starts to get warm; here in Houston it is even warmer than most places! So, this Chardonnay was just right for a Saturday night wine down. I really enjoyed this Chardonnay because it is rich, complex and elegant; a great Chardonnay for the red wine drinker. This Chardonnay is unoaked; I typically prefer an oaked Chardonnay however, this wine really appealed to my palate. Best of all it will compliment most meals!
