My mother made it known that I was breaking Easter brunch rules to order a burger. I couldn't resist the Grace's on Kirby Wagyu burger served on Challah bread with a side of steak fries. Ordered medium-well with a glass of A.A. Badenhurst Red Blend from South Africa was a perfect pairing. This burger was full of flavor and had these amazing bread and butter pickles that added a bit of crunch and kick to the flavor. Every bite sipped with the Syrah blend of this South African wine excited my taste buds! Now, let's talk WINE....AA Badenhurst Family Wines are grown in Swartland, South Africa by cousins Hein and Adi Badenhurst. The Curator blend has pepper, liquorice, perfume and balack cherries on the nose. The palate is dense with lavendar and dark berry fruit.

I actually got a great bang for my buck with this burger; you do see the size of this burger, right!?! Well, I ate half of the burger at Grace's and the other half at home paired with the Runquist 1448 California Red Blend. 1448 consists of 54% Petite Sirah, 31% Petit Verdot, 4% Barbera, 3% Syrah, 2% Zinfandel, 2% Carignane, 2% Souzao. The flavors for the 1448 Blend are big and rich and a great match for this big, bold burger from Grace's.
